Hey, beauties! 🙂 What’s up? Today I was in the mood for writing about one of the biggest trends of this year! And “which is that?” you may ask. Fishnet tights of course! If you are looking for inspiration on how to wear fishnet tights while looking stylish and classy, just keep reading!
Fishnet tights were in many Autumn/Winter 2016 catwalks like Max Mara, Just Cavalli, Moschino, Isabel Marant, etc. They have become a huge trend, worn by many celebrities and style icons. Some people don’t approve of them or afraid to rock them, because they believe that they look cheap, trashy and kind of slutty (which if it is something that you want to do it is totally fine and no one has the right to judge!).
However, if you wear them a certain way, you can pull them off almost everywhere. Of course, they look a bit sexier than other styles of hosiery, but still, they can look classy and chic. There are many different styles out there and you can find most of them just in one package by clicking here.
Below I’m showcasing some outfits I suggest to pair them with, in order to wear them without shame 😛 (Just kidding! I believe that you can always wear whatever makes you feel good and ignore the opinion of others!)
Enough talking! Let’s begin!
How To Wear Fishnet Tights
1) With a pair of ripped jeans
On the photos below I styled them with a pair of jeans. As you can see there are many options with that!
Outfit No1
This is a very casual combination which you can choose to wear in almost all of your endeavors! Here, I’m wearing the fishnet tights with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a simple white tee. I added a checkered flannel on top, my favorite sneakers, a black bag and a belt. Lastly, I added my current favorite mirrored sunglasses and that’s it! Looks stylish adn different with zero effort!
What I am wearing
Sunglasses: Ray Ban, Flannel: Pull and Bear, T-Shirt: Pull and Bear, Belt: Stradivarius, Jeans: Zara, Watch: Daniel Wellington, Shoes: Adidas Stan Smith, Leather Bag: Folli Follie.
Outfit No2
The second outfit is very similar to the one above, but instead of a flannel, I chose a long cardigan, a pair of black sneakers and a totally different bag. I find this look a bit cozier and warmer than the above, so I usually reach out for it more often.
What I am wearing
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Cardigan: Stradivarius, T-Shirt: Pull and Bear, Jeans: Zara, Watch: Daniel Wellington, Shoes: Vans Old Skool, Leather Bag: Emporio Armani.
Outfit No3
This is another casual and easy to style look, with an edgier twist. Just wear a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a bodysuit and your favorite sneakers. If the weather is chilly add a leather jacket on top and you are ready to go!
What I am wearing
Bodysuit: Stradivarius, Jeans: Stradivarius, Shoes: Vans Old Skool, Choker: Zara.
Outfit No4
The last outfit in this category is edgy and bold, and it takes a little more confidence, but if you feel like wearing it, just do it! I used a black crop top, boyfriend ripped jeans, my favorite wardrobe staple coat, which is a leather jacket and some black block heel boots. Easy, right?
What I am wearing
Sunglasses: Supa Sundays, Leather jacket: Massimo Dutti, Crop Top: Zara, Jeans: Zara, Shoes: Stradivarius.
2) With a dress
Another easy way to style fishnet tights is with a dress. Usually, I prefer to go for a casual look like the ones below:
Outfit No1
Here, I have worn my very favorite and comfy denim dress, with a pair of white sneakers. I added a quite minimal and classic watch, my mirrored sunglasses and a mini, black shoulder bag. This is a pretty easy, everyday look for spring!
What I am wearing
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Denim dress: Stradivarius, Watch: Daniel Wellington, Shoes: Adidas Stan Smith, Bag: Mom’s Vintage
Outfit No2
How could I not include the little black dress? It is a piece that goes literally with everything you can imagine! It’s one of the 10 staples you need in your closet. I have an entire post dedicated to them, so if you want to know more click here. Of course, this is such an easy piece to work with, so I just added a checkered flannel around my waist and a pair of black boots. Nothing less, nothing more! I accessorized it with black sunglasses, some silver hoop earrings, and a simple watch.
What I am wearing
Sunglasses: Folding Ray Ban, Black dress: Stradivarius, Flannel: Stradivarius, Watch: Daniel Wellington, Shoes: Stradivarius.
3) With a skirt
Depending on the type of skirt you choose to pair them with, you can either achieve an edgy style or one that is more “office appropriate”, as I like to call it 😛
Outfit No1
I find this look cool and fierce, but it is not to be worn everywhere, so choose wisely where you are going to rock it ;). I’d choose to go to an outdoor concert with it for example! It’s comfortable and easy to throw on, but it looks like you put some effort into it. I’m just wearing a denim grey skirt, a black crop top, a black leather jacket and a pair of black sneakers. Could it be easier than that?
What I am wearing
Grey skirt: Stradivarius, Crop top: Zara, Leather jacket: Massimo Dutti, Shoes: Vans Old Skool .
Outfit No2
This is one of my absolute favorite looks! It is not suitable for every day or casual occasions, but it is perfect for a night out or for the office (depending on the dress code of it of course!). I find it quite feminine, elegant and chic. It is also pretty easy to recreate. Just wear a flowy shirt, a black pencil skirt (I chose a leather one for an edgier look), good quality wool or cashmere coat and a pair of classic black pumps. Accessorize it with a nice watch, some pearl earrings and a structured tote. You will look put together in zero time!
What I am wearing
Cashmere coat: Vintage Custom made, Shirt: Stradivarius, Leather skirt: Vintage Custom made, Leather pumps: Gianni Marra, Bag: Zara, Watch: Loisir.
Outfit No3
The last outfit in this category is a bit more relaxed and girly than the above and easier to wear on more occasions. It is what I would call an effortlessly chic look. Add an oversized sweater, a black mini skirt and a pair of pointed black pumps. Accessorize it with a pair of sunglasses, a watch, and a cute bag.
What I am wearing
Sweater: Stradivarius, Skirt: Stradivarius), Leather bag: Emporio Armani, Leather pumps: Gianni Marra, Sunglasses: Massimo Dutti, Watch: Loisir.

I don’t follow in wearing one of the biggest trends, but I may be one of the biggest fans.
Kate, how are you making these suggestions though? 😉
I’m not sure how I found my way here (LOL), but I like how you did this.
There are many more variations to wearing the product, no?

Hey Ramon!
Thank you for stopping by! Yes, there are much more variations, i just added the ones i prefer the most!
I really love how you shown the versatility of fishnets. I remember growing up and my mother would state that fishnet are not what “proper ladies wear” But, style is changing and I would definitely try wearing the fishnets under jeans. That looks really cute to wear on a chill day.

Girl, you look so good!
I must go get some fishnet tights now, so many great outfits I want to combine.
It is so good to see fashion comebacks… these tights make me nostalgic, I remember when I used to wear them very often as I was younger, I had bright pink ones! I never believed that there would be a day when I could start wearing these again, haha!
You are doing great work, you just made me wanna go shopping now!
Wish you the best of luck with your fashion blog,
Melissa

Hello dear Melissa! Thank you for your kind words!
My goodness, you are so adorable! I am not a fan of wearing fishnets, although they actually were quite popular when I was younger and seem to be making a comeback. You make them look super cute. I love your ideas. Pulling them up over your stomach is brilliant, and makes crop tops so much easier to confront wearing. Thank you so much for sharing these photos!
