Hey Beauties! What’s up? I hope everything is fine!
In my last post, i wrote about spring outfits, so i only find it appropriate that i stay in the same theme and blog about how to spring clean your closet. I know it is the last month of spring, but the previous months weren’t that sunny or hot here in Greece. Also, spring is a transitional season, so what better way to prepare our wardrobe for both spring and summer? Are you ready for some tips? Keep reading!
How to spring clean your closet – Tips
Remove the heavy fabrics
Well, this step is necessary (and a bit obvious:P). You need to remove all the heavy fabrics that are not going to be worn for a pretty while. You can, of course, keep your favorite cardigan for a chilly spring or summer night, but you’re not gonna need your heavy jackets or your wool scarves.
Get inspired by the current trends
Choose from the clothes that you already have, which ones you feel you are going to wear, as well as those that match the current fashion trends you want to follow. There are various things you can do with the remaining. The first thing i like to do is to give some of the clothes that i don’t feel like wearing this season (or i’m simply bored of) to my bestie and she does the same. We keep the ones we feel like wearing and we give away the rest. This way, you can renew your wardrobe with zero cost! Clever ha?
You can sell or give the garments you haven’t worn for a really long time to people in need. This way your wardrobe will have more space than before and you can see pretty much all the clothes you own. You don’t want to discover the prettiest summer dress you had forgotten that you even owned, hanging in the back of the closet at the end of the summer season (it has happened to me guys…don’t want anyone of you to have the same experience…).
Step out of your comfort zone
This season try to buy different styles of garments and colors from the ones you feel safe wearing. Usually, these are the pieces that you pass by when you go for shopping, but you may be surprised at what might look good on you. I will try to follow this rule myself this season. Hopefully, you will follow me on this trip :P.
Don’t forget your basics
Restock, or in case you haven’t already, add the basics in your closet. White and grey tees, neutral color tank tops, white jeans etc…One thing i also like to do in spring is to buy some new pretty underwear. Let’s not forget that spring and summer are the seasons of sheer fabrics and tiny clothing pieces, so you don’t want your see-through shirt to look bad because of a loose bra.
Can you imagine a complete closet without accessories? Didn’t think so either…Pack into boxes all of your booties (I’m gonna miss you high thigh boots) and bring back all of the shoes you couldn’t wear because of the rain or the cold. Ballet flats, loafers, sandals etc.. Don’t forget your favorite bags that haven’t seen the light of the sun for a while!
…and that was it for today! I hope my tips on how to spring clean your closet will help you organize your wardrobe a little better than before. If you have more tips on this matter or you have any topics you want me to blog about don’t hesitate to write them in the comment section below.
